The Wuerzburg Vocational Development Agency (BFW) is a supra-regional competence center for the vocational training of adults, who are blind and visually impaired. People with other health restrictions can also find professional support at the BFW Würzburg. The majority of BFW Wuerzburg course participants were employed before they became visually impaired. Due to an illness or an accident, they can no longer carry out their previous professional activity. With the support of the BFW Wuerzburg, those affected gain new career prospects.
The specific goal of the BFW is the seamless reintegration of participants into professional and social life. Individual advisory services and qualification measures optimally tailored to blind and visually impaired adults make the BFW Wuerzburg one of the leading institutions in this area nationwide.
The BFW Wuerzburg, founded in 1962, has had its headquarters in Veitshoechheim since 1980 and has over 200 training positions in numerous apprenticeships and career preparation. The main office’s advice is supported by the BFW Regional Center in Munich. The BFW Wuerzburg’s offerings are used by blind and visually impaired adults, rehabilitation providers (German pension insurance, employment agencies and professional associations) as well as businesses and public services.
