About us:

The Public Authority Centre for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Youth, located in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a leading public institution dedicated to the education, rehabilitation, and social inclusion of children and young people with visual impairments, established in 1947.

The Centre delivers a wide range of specialized services, including formal education, assistive technology training, orientation and mobility programs, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at fostering independence and lifelong learning.

It provides comprehensive education, rehabilitation and support services for children and young people with visual impairment, including those with additional disabilities.

The institution offers early intervention, primary and secondary education, functional rehabilitation, orientation and mobility training, and lifelong learning support. It applies inclusive and individualized methodologies, combining traditional and modern approaches, assistive technologies, Braille literacy, and multisensory learning.

The institution provides its services to all parties of interest, offering professional support, teacher training, cooperation with mainstream schools, and international collaboration.

Through national and international partnerships, the Centre actively contributes to the development of inclusive education practices and the advancement of equal opportunities for persons with visual impairments.
